Netflix: Wood (ReplayTV, Roku) VP Internet TV
Press release today that Anthony Wood (inventor of the PVR, founder of ReplayTV and Roku, so cleverly named after the Japanese word for "six" to remind us of the other companies he started and sold) has joined as VP of Internet TV reporting to Chief Product Officer Dr. Neil Hunt.
Between Netflix's Hastings joining Microsoft's board, Cisco's Charlie Giancarlo (president of Cisco-Linksys LLC, and also managed their Scientific Atlanta acquisition) joining Netflix's board, and now the hiring of Wood, all doubt has been removed that Netflix is going to be the brand leading the stitched-together forces trying to foil Apple's plans for domination in the last bastion of digital distribution still up for grabs.
Will that be enough?
